Keller Rackauckas LLP is pleased to announce that Jay P. Barron has joined the firm as Senior Counsel. Before joining Keller Rackauckas LLP, Barron practiced at Alschuler Grossman and the national law firm of Bingham McCutchen.

Jay is an experienced business litigator whose practice focuses on complex litigation in state and federal courts, including contract and business tort disputes, insurance litigation, class actions, health care, false advertising and unfair competition, entertainment and trade secret litigation, and corporate governance disputes.

Jay has represented clients ranging from individual entrepreneurs to large publicly traded companies. His clients have included manufacturers, international corporations, nonprofits, health care providers, lawyers and investors. He has significant experience in development and implementation of discovery plans, and has coordinated large electronic document collection and production. He has extensive expertise in trial and pretrial motion practice, devising settlement and trial strategies, and preparing for and participating in mediations and arbitrations.

Jay received his J.D. in 2006 from the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Law, where he graduated Order of the Coif (top ten percent of the class) and was an Articles Editor for the UCLA Entertainment Law Review. He received his B.A. cum laude from Georgetown University in 2002.

    Keller/Anderle’s successful application for a temporary restraining order led the state and federal governments to announce Friday they would abandon their plan to use the Fairview Developmental Center in Costa Mesa to quarantine coronavirus patients.

    The action was to stop a possible plan by state and federal agencies to use the Fairview Developmental Center to house and quarantine people with the coronavirus. Jennifer Keller, an attorney for the city, said Friday evening that it is hard to reconcile how Fairview could be suitable for coronavirus quarantine when it had recently been deemed unfit for a homeless shelter without extensive improvements.
