Legal Malpractice
When your lawyer or law firm botches your or your company’s case, the result can be devastating. And if you are a lawyer or law firm that has been sued, your reputation and livelihood are on the line, in many cases without justification.
Companies and individuals rely on trusted counsel, but sometimes that trust is misplaced. Even the biggest and most prestigious law firms can miss deadlines, select an improper forum, misinterpret the law, sue the wrong people or entities, miss insurance issues, make disastrous strategic moves, or simply give the wrong advice.
On the other hand, even major law firms are sometimes sued simply because the case did not come out the way the client envisioned.
We’ve been “on both sides of the V,” representing both a billion-dollar company injured by bad advice from partners in a global, AmLaw 100 law firm -– and an AmLaw 100 law firm itself wrongly accused of legal malpractice by a disgruntled heir to his parents’ massive fortune. We also prevailed at jury trial for an elderly client whose daughter conspired with lawyers she procured to bilk the father out of his estate, winning the largest legal malpractice jury verdict of the year. In each case, whether the amounts in issue were a few million or a billion dollars, we achieved stellar results for the client.
