Since 1993, the ADL has presented the Marcus M. Kaufman Jurisprudence Award to attorneys who make exceptional contributions to the legal profession and the broader community. In memory of Supreme Court Justice Marcus M. Kaufman, the 103rd Justice of the California Supreme Court, Jurisprudence honorees serve as role models of ethics and leadership in the legal community and embody ADL’s mission “to stop the defamation of the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment to all.”
Supporting this event is especially meaningful as Founding Partner Jennifer Keller received the Jurisprudence Award in 2001. To continue the tradition of recognizing attorneys who carry weight outside the courtroom is an honor. Congratulations to this year’s honorees, Hon. Kathleen E. O’Leary (Ret.) and Kimberly Valentine.
Introduced this year, the ADL will also be announcing its 2026 Community Champion Award for individuals and organizations whose work exemplifies ADL’s mission of promoting a just and inclusive world. Congratulations to Hoag on this recognition.
The 2026 Marcus M. Kaufman Jurisprudence Awards Dinner will be held on Thursday, November 19 at the Hyatt Regency Irvine from 5-8:30 pm. Individual tickets are for sale on the Anti-Defamation League website.
